Changes, and then more changes

To say the past 12 months has presented challenges doesn’t begin to describe our situation.

The purpose of this post is to confirm what our membership has already heard – we are moving.  This is the result of an out-of-court settlement, which permits us to remove our belongings and furnishings, to be accomplished by 8am on April 7, 2021.

Instead of occupying the space over the grocery, we will be conducting meetings in the La Rue Village building, 350 North High Street, La Rue, OH.

For those who have ever moved, you probably recall boxing up more things than you recalled owning, making difficult decisions what to keep and where, and how to get it there.  The last part is already covered – 3rd Generation Movers will be taking care of that on March 22nd.  They will be transferring our essential items to the Village building.  The balance will be stored on the 4th floor of Marion #70.  That will give us an opportunity to dispose of unnecessary items at a comfortable pace.

Our meeting schedule will remain the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, September through June, at 7:30pm.  We have submitted the appropriate materials to Grand Lodge to support this move and designate this space as our regular meeting location.  Due to the move, our EA Inspection, initially scheduled for March 17th, has been postponed to a date yet to be determined.

In considering our history, we have “only” been at 56 ½ North High Street since the building was erected in 1926.  We are pleased to be able to continue our stay in La Rue, where we’ve been situated since 1872.  Much like that summer rainstorm which stranded some Brothers on a covered bridge on their way back from Richwood, we view this as an opportunity to reconnoiter, and start something new.  You are welcome to join us on this journey
