If it seems like a long time since we’ve updated the
site, you are correct! It seems like
life, both Masonic and otherwise, took some major detours which resulted in our
attention being focused elsewhere.
Among those distractions was the weather. Ohio can have severe everything – snow, cold,
heat, rain, tornados, and the rare hurricane.
Yes, even a hurricane. After
several mild winters, this one has thrown most of the book at us. Thankfully we are a hardy lot with a sense of
humor. Why else could we station
reporters at ODOT salt barns using phrases like “snow warrior” with a straight
face?
Our most recent news is our FC Inspection, which happened
on March 2nd, for the pleasure of RWB Matt Pollock. We’d
love to brag (the word “excellent” was used in describing our degree work), but
our real accomplishment was found in other comments. In particular, our long-term positive
relationship with other Lodges, and other Districts, was mentioned as examples
of fellowship and mutual aid that are at the heart of Masonry.
By now our membership is getting used to the approach of
our WM. He has scheduled a dinner prior
to each meeting since being installed in November. This includes those Special Meetings, called
for both practices and Inspection. His opinion
is that it promotes fellowship, increases attendance, and is just fun. Those are hard things to argue against. As a result, it would be safe to plan on
dinner at 6:30pm prior to each Lodge meeting.
Yes, our Secretary will still send email reminders.
We are currently in the middle of Inspection Season. Rather than attempt to recreate the entire 15th
District Inspection schedule here, please use the link at the left to check the
15th District web site. They
will have posted the most current information available, which might take a while
to filter down to us.
As a result, our calendar has a single listing at this
point:
June 8, 2019 15th District
Grand Master’s Reception,
starting at 11am in East Liberty. The
meal will be a picnic, open to the entire family at no cost. Dress will be informal.
As a reminder,
we are repeating the following information:
The 15th Masonic District Grand
Master’s Reception will be considerably different for
2019. It will be held on Saturday,
June 8, 2019 at the park outside of East Liberty. It will be a cookout with casual dress
(shorts, t-shirt, sandals, etc.), and will start at 11am, with all food and beverages provided. Attendance is open to all members, spouses,
and kids, with no cost to attend. There
will be the customary awards presented, it will just be accomplished in a
picnic setting. Closer to that date they
will want an RSVP to make sure they have sufficient supplies.
That brings us
up to date for now. Stay safe, and take
care of yourself and loved ones while we await the arrival of spring!
See you in
Lodge.
